On September 11, 2001 I was working for the Star-Ledger as a staff photographer. Watching the Twin Towers burn and then come down is something I will never forget. In the following days, the paper instituted 24 hour coverage at ground zero. I spent several shifts in lower Manhattan in the weeks that followed. Now there are memorials in many towns in the tri-state area, and I fear most people walk by them without a second thought. I combined some lyrics from James Taylor's Fire and Rain with this photo of the Jersey City 9/11 Memorial located at Exchange Place. Never forger those who lost their lives that day, in the weeks, months and years after.
